Deepali Naair began her career with Tata Motors in 1993 followed by a stint in marketing at BPL Mobile, when the first mobile phone was launched in India. She has also worked in Advertising as a Strategic Planner at Draft FCB-Ulka followed by a stint in a consumer goods company - Marico as Marketing Manager for Saffola and Mediker. Before joining L&T Insurance, her last assignment was with HSBC Global Asset Management India as Vice President & Head of Marketing. Apart from successfully managing marketing for India operations, she led the Global relaunch (communication development) of HSBC Global Asset Management Brand, which used to be HSBC Investments in its previous avatar.In December 2009, she joined L&T as part of the start-up team to launch the General Insurance business as Country Head for Brand and Corporate Communications. She has been instrumental in designing the brand strategy and digital strategy for L&T Insurance. She also headed the e-commerce channel for L&T Insurance along with looking after customer service. In October 2013, she joined Mahindra Holidays as Chief Marketing Officer.She gets invited regularly to speak at various Conferences in India & abroad. In April 2011, she was invited to USA, for a presentation on “Social Media in India”. This presentation was made to the insurers based out of USA. She was also a Speaker at Asia Insurance Review conference on social media for Insurance in April 2012 at Singapore. In April 2013 she was a speaker at the 1st MENA Social Media and Mobile Marketing conference for Insurance, held in Dubai. In February 2013 she was part of a panel discussion at Ad: Tech New Delhi (the largest congregation of digital marketers in India) to share her perspective on story-telling in marketing. Most recently she was a speaker at the prestigious TFM&A 2013 and the imedia Summit 2013 in Jaipur. Her latest sessions have been at Interop & ET Customer Experience Management, both in July 2014 and the Economic Times Digi Forum in March 2014.In 2014, www.socialsamosa.com listed Deepali as one of the top 8 futuristic brand heads in India. In 2013, Deepali has been awarded the ‘Leading Woman in Insurance’ Award by International Women Leadership Forum for her innovative work in designing the brand and digital strategy for L&T Insurance. In February 2013 she was recognized as the "50 Most Talented Brand Leaders of India” at the Brand Leadership Award instituted by The World Brand Congress. In 2012, Deepali was recognized by Paul Writer as one of the top 50 CMOs for the prestigious Marketing & IT Recognition (M.IT.R) program for using technology to enhance marketing. She is also the recipient of Indira Super Achievers Award in September 2010. She has also been listed as one of the ‘Maharanis of Business’, a listing of top marketing women in the country, by Paul Writer.Besides working full time, she loves to teach. She has been a guest faculty at SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai for about a decade now. In 2012 she has been invited to be a member of the SPJIMR Marketing Advisory Council. She has delivered guest lectures at MICA, Ahmedabad, SIMSREE apart from other B Schools in India and abroad.She finds social media to be the antidote for Mumbai's traffic. These days her time in the car is spent on Pinterest. She is very interested in design and runs several boards on Pinterest on design, home decor and Indian couture. She lives in Mumbai with her mother, husband and nine year old son.
